What is Black Hat SEO Techniques|Avoid Doorway Pages, CLoaking in SEO: "Doorway Pages:
What is Doorway Pages? Doorway pages are simple HTML pages which customized for specific keywords or phrases and fully optimized for search engines spiders. In short what is Doorway Pages. Suppose you want to go to purchase a SONY television and you went to market and see a board 'We have SONY, TOSHIBA, PANASONIC Products' in any shop. then you feel oh I got it and suddenly you entered in that shop but there was no option for Televisions."

Editors Note: I wonder if the very common technique of Domain Parking" is considered by the search engines to be same as what the writer above is calling "Doorway Pages". I imagine that the answer is yes, and that a doorway page is perhaps a more generic term. Also followers of this particular website should understand for the most part I am giving over what other "experts" in the IP world, (Internet Protocol) are saying, often without commentary. It is meant to be an information sharing website (as opposed to a blog).

  1. One should also realize that if they buy a domain either from a registrar or their web host's registrar, and they do not "do anything" with it for a while. Most likely that domain will often go into the hosts own version of a "Door Way" page.

I do not know weather or not the web host "actually makes any money' off of these very common practices, however it probably is not advantageous to the owner of the domain who will often be offered something called "Who is Guard" so that their own personal information is not revealed to those who seek to find out who the domain owner is.
