A simple difference I have noticed when attempting to use the permalink ( 801,000,000 references on google yet it redlines on the BlogSpot WYSIWYG editor) to a given post for subsequent posting on other platforms such as Facebook, is that the first several line of what the individual post is all about, never gets picked up in the Facebook feed, yet the topic of the blog, or the entire blogs own 'meta description ' does. I have seen others ask this very question, and I know it does have a corresponding feature in WordPress, and perhaps may require a specific feature or gadget to be created or activated in BlogSpot.
